Disappointed with Service and Charges
I had an unfortunate experience with Midstate that I'd like to share. I called in this plumbing service when I faced a clog issue in my yard, as the city workers were unable to locate the problem. They suggested I hire a plumber to dig up my yard to investigate further.
While I understand that plumbing can be complex, Midstate opted to dig up my yard before attempting to snake the clog. After the excavation and a bill exceeding $3000, he was ultimately able to unclog the drain with a snake, which left me questioning his approach. He even commented I guess I should have done that first. If he were truly the expert he claims to be, I believe he would have prioritized snaking first to find a solution without resorting to heavy equipment and extensive damage to my property.
I feel that I was taken advantage of in this situation, and I cannot recommend Midstate based on this experience. I hope that others considering their services will take my experience into account and ensure that they discuss all potential options thoroughly before proceeding.
Additionally, I have read your response. Your facts are completely incorrect. As I explained to you that day when I called you from my work office, the initial plumber that was on site, only provided service on the inside of the house. He suggested I call the city because the problem was on the outside of the house. The city workers then came out the next day AND DID NOT HAVE A CAMERA. I explained this to you when I called you (the next afternoon before I had left my office which was late afternoon, somewhere like 4-5p) the tool that they used and when you did arrive that early evening (and yes I agreed to you coming out then because as I explained to you my toilets and bath tubs were not draining). Once you arrived you even joked about the tool the City had used to attempt to snake the clog & stated that it was not a snake tool that a plumber would use. You then proceeded to show me your tool that should have been used by the city and I told you it was nothing like that. You arrogantly marched across my yard yelling out to your guys, "this is what the CITY told us to do, dig it up" as you immediately began excavating the yard without first attempting to snake or look for yourself with your camera or correct snake. YOU ARE THE ONLY PLUMBER THAT USED A CAMERA AFTER YOU DESTROYED THE YARD. It was the city workers not a plumber that said it would need to be dug up, again these were city workers not EXPERT PLUMBERS. Furthermore, you offered to go to the city office with me to discuss all of this, when I called you about that, you never responded. And yes this review comes a year or more after the fact simply because I was recently on the highway and observed one of your new Sprinter type vehicles which is an extremely expensive vehicle with your logo all over the vehicle and it just reminded me of the entire experience again and I was absolutely taken advantage of for over $3000
The facts are clear and I believe we both know the truth of the situation. If this is how you choose to conduct yourself and run your business, I wish you well moving forward, but hope you reconsider your approach and how it will ultimately affect those around you...
