„Chiapoh Tai says: Heard a hissing sound from the water heater area last night. Went to check it out and found out the water expansion tank was leaking. Shut off the water to the water tank and cut power to the water heater. Ran hot water and the leaking slowed dramatically, which allowed time to wait until this morning to find a plumber. Searched online and booked an appointment with Gene Johnson (Fox/Bel Red/Taylor Plumbing) for today from 12p to 7p. Got a call back in 30 minutes from a rep to change the service window to this morning from 8a to 12p, where the dispatcher would call 45-90 min prior to provide an ETA. Got a call around 9:45a saying a plumber should arrive in 50 min - also got a text with the plumber's profile. The plumber, Blake, arrived around 10:40a. Blake checked the leaking expansion tank and the water tank, provided suggestions and price quotes. Opted to replace the expansion tank only today. Blake said no problem and could get it done today. Blake explained what he'd do and went to get tools, pump, rags and hose. Blake drained the water tank, uninstalled the leaking expansion tank and installed a new expansion tank. After the new expansion tank was installed, Blake turn on the water to the water heater, checked for leaks and instructed to run hot hot water to let air out then power on the water heater. Blake checked for leaks again and made sure the water heater was heating. Blake indicated the water should be hot in about an hour or so (longer for older tanks). If not, feel free to call him back. Blake got done, collected payment and left around 11:45a. It has been about 6 hours since the expansion tank replacement; and so far so good - got hot water back and no leaks. The whole experience with Gene Johnson was superb. And Blake was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and professional! Blake cleaned the water tank area before, during and after the expansion tank install - very attentive and caring of the work. Oh, Blake also helped to replace the water sensor alarm batteries and tested the alarm. The alarm didn't sound last night because the batteries were dead. I hope I don't have to call a plumber anytime soon. But if I do, I'd definitely call Gene Johnson first...“ Show more

For the past several years, I have had another company that rhymes with 'deacon' out to maintain my system. Every year, we do whatever they recommend to ensure it is in tip-top shape. So it came as a bit of a shock when it stopped working in late June (right when we were hitting 85 and 90 degree days). I have had that same company out for various jobs (plumbing, etc) with mixed results. Sometimes, I felt fine. Other times, I wondered if they were trying to sell me things I did not need. So, I decided to look for the top rated HVAC company and have them inspect the system. Corey came out to see if it could be repaired, and within 1 min, he noticed two things that were very disturbing: 1. He put a level on the system and noticed it was clearly not level (leaning both right and back). Corey explained that this causes the system to work much harder than necessary to push lubrication to the high side, which wears put the system faster. 2. The caps on the high and low side AC ports on the system were completely missing. These prevent coolant from leaking out of the system. When checked, the coolant was almost entirely gone. The system was fried. Corey provided me a range of options - least to most expensive and the pros/cons ranging from about $10K, up to $23K). NOTE: I had done a little homework before he came, and he confirmed what I had read online; 410a systems are going away in 2024. Come Jan 1 2025, new refrigerant is being used, and the new systems cost 35-45% MORE than the systems you can buy today!! So, in a way, the timing was a blessing; we chose the top of the line Daikin system. Why? Every other manufacturer plans obscolecence into their systems. Daikin systems are designed to last 30 years or more. I signed the paperwork, and within 24 hours, Binh came out along with Bryan and Murad from As You Wish Electric to install our system. System installed the next day, however, there was a small challenge in that the system was not switching to AC. That evening Brett came out to diagnose the problem (turns out it was something odd with how our old wiring was setup). Brett sent Nick out the next morning who was able to fix the issue. We love the new system - much quieter, uses less energy and even has a handy app where you can control all aspects of your system. I should highlight that AAA also offers 0% 12 month financing, to ease the burden of paying for the system. I was impressed by the consistency and professionalism of the entire AAA team. Would not have anyone else work on our HVAC in the future...“ Show more
