Mark Salamone says: „During the recent heat wave, our A/C went out. My wife has a condition that makes her particularly susceptible to heat so we called for after hours support. Our technician, Michael (Mike), came out on a Sunday and traced the problem to the run capacitor. After replacing it, he tested the unit and the fan would not run. His initial diagnosis was that the fan motor was bad. He did not have a spare on the truck so one would have to be ordered and another service call would be required once the part came in - likely a couple of days hence. Knowing the heat wave was far from over, he wanted to get the unit up and running right away if possible. He posited that the fan motor might have been in thermal lock (if this description is not accurate, the fault is mine) and he asked if I had a water hose. He sprayed the fan housing for several minutes until it cooled. When he tried the system again, the fan operated and all was up and running.
It would have been very easy for him to leave with an order for a new motor and another service call 'in his pocket' with us having to swelter for another couple of days, but instead he spent the extra time and brought to bear his experience to fix the problem that day. This was, in my view, above and beyond and we couldn't be happier with the service we received that very hot day...“ Show more
