Aldie Beard says: „When it’s August in Houston and your air conditioning stops working you’re in trouble…and many times you call companies who can’t get to you for days, especially when your unit breaks on a weekend as ours had. Thank goodness, good fortune smiled upon me because only about a week or so before the unit failed, I had signed up for the annual service agreement with Katy Plumbing Company Heating and Air. Knowing I had this, I called and spoke to a lady named Linda. She was so very understanding and helpful—not the typical “sorry you’re in a bad place sir but we do not have a technician available for 3-4 days”….. No, Linda was empathetic and she had one of their top A/C technicians, Mr. Roberto Montelongo at my home as quickly as possible. Roberto was very polite and very kind. He diagnosed the problem and it turns out it was a short in my compressor. My unit was under warranty, so he took the time to find the right replacement compressor and then even drove to the distributor shop to pick it up himself on Saturday Morning before they closed at Noon . He got my compressor and brought it back to my house. He explained to me that he had called his supervisor to get permission to install it right then because they normally did not do installations like this until Monday. Knowing I had a whole house full of people he got permission to do what was best for my family and I so appreciate that!!!! Roberto explained to me that he used to install whole units for many years before he became a service technician so installing my new compressor was something he was very experienced at doing. He did a great job getting the system working again, all within a couple of hours. He took the time to explain to me exactly what he was doing during each step—I wanted to see what Roberto was doing out of curiosity as to how they replace a compressor. Because of the team work at Katy Plumbing Company Heating and Air between Linda and Roberto and Roberto’s Supervisor (whoever that may be) I had a working system again as quickly as was possible. If you don’t have a service agreement with Katy Plumbing Co. Heating and Air you should get one. It could really save you….just like mine did within only about a week or so of purchasing it.
