I decided not to move forward with this company due to the customer service experience. I was asked three separate times if my husband would be there when they came to give us the roofing estimate. Finally, I asked why they specifically needed my HUSBAND to be there and they said that so they could discuss the pricing and the findings with him directly. I am a senior construction manager for an architecture firm, I quite literally make construction decisions for a living. I cannot speak to the quality of their work or craftsmanship but I prefer to work with companies who treat everyone like an equal.
A note for customer service: a more appropriate way to phrase this could be to ask if the person making decisions about the project would be present during the appointment so that they could effectively relay all of the findings to them. As someone in the construction industry, I can understand why they would want that person present. Just don’t make generalizations about people...
