B Emmel says: „This was my first time having to replace a roof, and this experience was a replacement of a slate roof, 96 years old, with a shingle roof. Roof was a two-story Dutch colonial with a porch in the garage, so there was going to be significant amount of tear down to the original hardwood surface. In one day, the Installer that was sub To complete the work, was able to strip down all of the slate and old paper within Five hours. Some minor board replacement was completed, and the roof was completely sealed up and shingled in another 6 1/2 hours. Breaking down the slate roof added a considerable amount of cleanup requirement, which was taken care of primarily on the first day. The next day, a partial crew returned and spent another several hours, completing a more detailed cleanup of the job site in addition to adding aluminum flashing, that was originally planned. I only found one area that was overlooked with some trim shingle work, and another small crew was dispatched to take care of finishing that up the day after I called. Overall, you wouldn’t be able to look at the house and say that any work ever transpired, because of how thorough the installation and cleanup was completed. The complement of having the project manager from Erie and the subcontract owner manager worked well with the installation of the new new roof. As a manufacturing site contractor coordinator, I appreciate it our responsive those two managing the work completed was. I have a home in Florida, and I would definitely consider having Erie propose to replace my roof there when the time comes...“ Show more
