TL;DR: I enjoyed working with the company and when the time comes for new gutters, I know who I am most likely going with.
I met with 3 other contractors before going with WeatherSeal NJ. Meeting with Max of WeatherSeal NJ was a pleasure, smooth and to the point. He arrived at the agreed time and inspected my roof and attic. He explained in detail the process of installing a new roof and answered any questions I had. We discussed the type of work I wanted done with no pressure to up sell anything or to sign the contract that day. He soon sent to my email an easy to understand estimate with the breakdown of material and work. My total came to $15,000 for replacement of the roof, a new skylight and replacement of the shingles of the shed as well.
When I signed the contract, I paid half of the cost of work as a down payment and the second half will be given when they finish the project. They were quick to set up the day of installation (one week). The day before the installation, they dropped off a dumpster with tires (So it doesn’t damage your driveway)
Once the day arrived, they came at the estimated time we scheduled, which was early morning. I met with Brian the project manager who started to asset and prep the area around my house to set up nets to protect my house and surrounding greenery when it came time for the demolition. Unfortunately you don’t know what kind of additional work is needed until you strip the roof bare and see what’s underneath. I have an older home that used planks instead of plywood sheets. Due to the planks being spaced too far apart it wouldn’t properly hold the nails for the shingles, thus nulling my warranty. I ended up needing an additional 37 sheets, this added an additional $3,000 to the project. I met with Mendy when he stopped by to see how the project was progressing and if I had any additional questions. Since the second half of the payment was a little higher than expected, I asked for some additional time for the payment since I had to transfer money over to my account. Mendy told me not to worry since it was a big unexpected expense. Once the project was done, the crew did a great job cleaning up all the loose debris and nails all around my house and my neighbors immediate area. There was a few debris and nails I found later on in obscure areas, but you can’t expect them to finely comb through everything.
After a long day, the project was finished the roof looked amazing and something I don’t need to worry about in the near distant future. A couple of days later, I paid the remaining balance for a grand total of $18,000. They sent me an email with the warranty, guaranteed both by the company and the brand. They also dropped off a pack of spare shingles if I ever need to replace/repair them, which I hope that I never will.
Overall I am very satisfied from start to finish working with WeatherSeal NJ. They made the process smooth and easy to understand, the work they did is phenomenal and I wish it was just as easy to work with other contractors in the same manner.
I went the Williamsburg Gray for my shingle color. Majority of the pictures were provided by the company...
