Al Benton says: „Realized Saturday morning the bad storm we had Thursday 5-9-24 had torn off a few shingles. Called one roofer that I had heard advertised on local radio station. They came out Monday, concluded we only needed a repair and got a quote on Tuesday. Monday afternoon called Pruitt’s Roofing as well as another company to get several estimates for comparison. Second company, big one in town didn’t have a time available until Tuesday 5-21-24, but I set up the appointment. Anthony Pruitt told me Monday he could come by around 4pm on Tuesday which worked for me. He showed up to not only give an estimate, but had the shingles with him to do the repair which impressed me. He had researched our subdivision and figured out what we probably had on the roof. Only thing is we had shingles also that we had saved for repairs, but they didn’t resemble what was on the roof or what he had brought with him, which was very odd. So he decided to make a trip to Beacon Roofing to confirm what we had or if it was actually a different shingle color. They said it was Max Def Weathered Wood, but it had changed color due to sunlight. It now had red tones highlighted and the original was more gray and darker red/brown tones. Anyway, Anthony’s quote was 60% less that the first quote we got so I had him do the job when he got back from Beacon Roofing. I had a number in mind of what I thought the repair would cost and he was close to that number. First company wanted $750 for 2 shingles and securing the shingles around the repair, which I felt was way overpriced. Anthony did it for the fair price of $300 which is where I was thinking it should cost. Pays to get multiple estimates, well 2 in this case, since I had to cancel the one next week and will never know how much they would have charged, LOL. Anthony is a great young man running his established family business that his dad started and handed over the reigns to him last year. I like to support local family owned businesses that are fair to the customer. I would MOST definitely have him do future repairs or when/if we need a new roof have him install it.
