Perhaps better named "Imprecision Roofing"
We hired Precision Roofing to replace the roof on our house prior to selling it. We’d been impressed by the meticulous work they’d done on a cedar shingled roof on a house on our street. Craig, the sales rep worked with us on a quote and he was wonderful to deal with. So, our expectations were high. We anticipated a high quality “precision” job. Unfortunately, this wasn’t our experience.
The crew they brought to work on the roof replacement were itinerant workers from South America. While I can’t fault their work ethic (they worked very hard) their workmanship was sloppy. We asked Precision to take extra care of the plants around the house, and they put up sheeting. Unfortunately, many areas were left unprotected. The crew threw tiles off the roof directly onto the plants. When we told the crew to stop, they ignored us and continued to damage the plants, flinging tiles all over them. They didn’t speak English and, weirdly, they consciously ignored us. We escalated the issue to the owner who intervened with the on-site foreman, but that had no effect.
As the work progressed, I noticed that they’d installed damaged drip edging on the roof and attached it with what I can only call a random spray of staples. If you’ve ever seen a roof installed on “This Old House” with carefully spaced nails, well this was as far from that as possible. When I raised the issue with the foreman, he shrugged that “that’s how everyone does it”.
After the roof was installed, there were numerous issues that needed attention. Finally, they brought in the A-team who’d worked on the cedar roofing project up the street. It took them 3 days to resolve the issues that the sloppy crew had unnecessarily created.
I cannot recommend this company if you care about quality. I’m glad we don’t own that house because knowing how sloppily the roof was installed would bother me every day...
