I give Schmucker Roofing a 5-star rating overall - and I never give 5-star reviews! They absolutely deserve it, not only for the quality of the completed work, but also for their prompt return visits to address and resolve any issues we had.
Schmucker Roofing installed a steel roof, fascia with soffit, and gutters on our home and garage, in that order. While this sequence may make sense from an installation perspective, I personally would have preferred the gutters installed first. Since the gutter straps had to be attached after the roof was completed, the straps and their fasteners ended up on top of the roof, sealed over. To me, this detracts a bit from the overall appeal of the otherwise excellent work, especially since the fasteners are silver rather than black. We understood that straps were required, but it wasn’t made clear that they would be installed on top of the steel roof or that the fasteners wouldn’t match our chosen color. (In my opinion, having sealer on every strap fastener could also present a potential point of failure.) While I understand the reasoning - installing the roof first to avoid damaging newly installed gutters - the process still feels counterintuitive.
We chose black for everything -roof, fascia, soffit, and gutters-and are very happy with our choice. The black complements our yellow home beautifully!
I especially appreciated the crew’s communication throughout the project. They kept us informed about scheduling and promptly addressed any concerns we raised after inspections. The crew members were always respectful, understanding, and did an impressive job cleaning up after each phase.
A quick tip: If you have a tall or steeply pitched roof, I recommend discussing snow guards with the salesperson. When several inches of snow accumulate and then slide off the roof, snow guards can help prevent potential damage to your gutters.
In summary, I highly recommend Schmucker Roofing for their professionalism, workmanship, and outstanding customer service...
