I've owned this house for 3 years and the current system has struggled to keep up with heating and cooling. The temperature was always different from room to room and the indoor and outdoor units were noisy and always rattling while running. The house had a room addition years ago and that room was always 5+ degrees different than the rest of the house. When I called, I was given an appointment the next day. Dan came out and listened to the issues I was having with the current system and then reviewed the current components inside and out to determine the best options. I was asked if I had system efficiency preferences and Dan explained that in my case, choosing the higher efficiency systems have local and manufacturer rebates that practically offset the price of lower efficiency systems. As a bonus, G.R. Freeman cuts the cost of any rebates off of the final price and handles the rebates themselves, saving the customer money up front. Dan recommended a mini-split for the room addition and high efficiency indoor and outdoor components appropriately sized for the original home size. I agreed and installation was scheduled for the following week. The home was built in the mid 50's and the ducts in the crawl space appeared to be original, so I had those replaced too. The team that did the install were all professional, punctual, and did quality work. It's been just over a week and I am impressed with the new system. Every room is the same temperature for the first time since I've been here. The mini-split system keeps the room addition right in line with the rest of the house and I can even turn that off if not in that room. If needed, it will heat or cool the room to the desired temperature within 5-10 minutes. Oh, and it's quiet - the whole system inside and out is so quiet I can't tell it is running unless I'm right next to it. Plus, I can control everything from my phone whether I'm at home or not, and while at home it is integrated with Alexa (works with google too).
