Niki began by looking around at the existing situation, all the while asking subtle questions about how you liked what was already there. Very casual and effective interrogation! Still no samples though. That would have made me feel like they wanted me to buy what they wanted to sell. She explained how, unlike the manufacturers or big boxes that sell product and then try to locate installers with availability, they keep dedicated installers whose work is predictable. Further that they don’t leave until you say you are satisfied with the job, and they don’t get the other half of their monies until then either. They have skin in the game. Then the samples come out, but not so many that making a choice and decision is an effort in confusion. Their method is demystifying. Niki already knows what kind of budget you have so, no crazy priced samples way outside your budget. Ten minutes later I made the choice based on spill and stain resistance, color, texture and pattern. We scheduled the installation. Then came the magic! Just as promised McKinsey, Marty and Matt showed up, armed with the photos Niki had taken, and were at work immediately. The genius of their method is still in play. Project Management was McKinsey’s role. Making sure the guys had everything they needed. She showed up at critical times. The workmen had obviously done this for years and took pride in what they were doing. Respectful not to totally mess up my home or damage anything that wasn’t part of the project they worked like a well oiled team with no wasted motion or time. And right on time the job was done and I’m so happy, it’s like a brand new home for me. It has inspired me to “unclutter” my spaces. Now that the place seems fresh and new I want to be able to see it and enjoy it. McKinsey, back again, then ensures that I am really happy (which is how one feels when their expectations have been exceeded) and I gladly write the check. Now I’m alone to luxuriate in my new spaces! All things considered, this company, with their methods, processes, and people is truly an affordable disintermediator in the home flooring industry.
