„Michael Farrell says: I highly recommend Koalaty for James Hardie siding replacement. We purchased our home three years ago in 2016. At the time of purchase, we knew there were some issues with the siding on the house. The previous owner had installed James Hardie siding around 2001. He either did it himself or had a contractor who didn’t know what they were doing. It was installed incorrectly per most every James Hardie specification and installed over the old cedar siding. This resulted in many of the Hardie planks loosening off the house. Our first plan was to repair the siding then paint the house. Unfortunately, when you just want to repair siding, most companies won’t even respond to the inquiry. That wasn’t the case with Koalaty. They were the only company to respond. Within a few days, their salesman Tom came out to the house to discuss options. After inspecting the siding with Tom, it became clear to me that our best option to address the siding on our home that we intend to own for many years was to fully replace the siding. Tom did offer options to repair the existing siding as best as possible, but we want to protect our largest investment so went with a full residing. I received 4 quotes for a total residing. All 4 quotes were fairly close in price. We made the decision to use Koalaty after carefully reviewing their online reviews, as well as the professionalism of the salesman Tom. Our project included the following: removing two layers of siding (old Hardie layer and cedar wood layer), installing new OSB around the entire house, installing James Hardie siding, soffits and fascia, then installing new gutters. We could have went with a primed board and painted the house but opted for the James Hardie ColorPlus (factory pre-painted). The work began within a few weeks of signing the contract. The crew that completed the work on our house were respectful of our property and did a fantastic job. They would answer any questions we had. If it was something they couldn’t address, Darren & Paul were a phone call away and responded immediately Once the job was 99.9% completed, Paul came out to do a final walk-through. There were a few concerns I had that needed to be addressed. Paul and Darren worked quickly to get the crew back out to finish a few touch up items. They wouldn’t take final payment until I was 100% satisfied with the work that was completed. As with any major project, sometimes things can go wrong. When working around the hose bib on the outside of my house, a water leak occurred in the wall. Darren called me immediately to tell me about the leaking pipe. It was about a total of 30 minutes until I got home and was able to shut off the water. In that time, about 300 gallons of water leaked into the basement. The great team at Koalaty saved the day. Within 2 hours of the leak, they had a restoration company at my house to dry out the basement. Thanks to that quick action, there was no damage other than drying things out then putting the carpet and baseboards back together. The only reason the damage was mitigated was due to the quick action of Koalaty to resolve the issue. Darren even dropped everything he was doing and came to Evergreen to meet the restoration company. Cory followed up that day with a phone call to me and assured me they would take care of any damages, and make sure the basement was good as new. I am happy to say, that’s exactly what they did. I was so very impressed with the entire team at Koalaty for resolving this issue. Truly a great contractor. It’s now been over two months since the completion of the full residing job on my house and I couldn’t be happier. From the outside, it is like a brand new house. We have received many compliments from friends and neighbors. The reason I had the work done was because as you could see from some of the before pictures of my home, my siding was melting. My awesome-wonderful neighbors (they are angels!) like to have their blinds up which causes a magnifying glass effect which melted my vinyl siding. There's no way folks shouldn't be able to have their windows open for the sunlight, but those low E windows cause amazing damage when the homes are so close together. If you drive around Green Valley Ranch, you will see this proof throughout the neighborhood and of course because the material is so cheap, the homebuilder uses it. Given my issues, I knew something had to be done as the vinyl and replacement vinyl siding were melting horribly and I did not want water damage and even worse, mold. I reached out to GS Exteriors given all of the positive results via Google, but also many other websites that confirmed their quality workmanship. When meeting with Ernest our one on one was laid back and chill. It was so easy to go through all of the project planning and I ended up going with the installation of James Hardie siding given its durability and superb reputation. Delivery of the materials was done on time with excellent quality supplies provided. Oswald was (is - you'll see) my Project Manager and he personally made my home residing project exponentially easier. From the time of tear down to reconstruction, the project lasted less than two (2) full weeks. The crew was just top notch, they cared about question I asked and they made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire ordeal. The cheap vinyl siding came off with ease and the cheap Oakwood Homes house wrap was like a paper towel - it just ripped apart with no effort. I am a fan of James Hardie siding and as you can see, it looks amazing. Now, onto the storm most Denverites won't forget, 05.30.2024. Many homes throughout my community that have vinyl siding had damage to say the least but my James Hardie siding withstood the brunt of the worst storm since 2014 and without a scratch! Thank you to the crew, project manager and owner.
