Roofing Specialists of San Diego is a family owned and operated roofing company. We entered the roofing industry in 1994 and became a licensed San Diego roofing contractor in 2002. Today, we continue to offer roof repair , new roofing installation, and professional roof inspection services in the San Diego area. Owner, Eric Richardson, is a third-generation San Diego Native, who believes in providing customers with quality work at competitive pricing. And for our commercial clients, we also offer commercial roofing installation, commercial roof repair and commercial roofing maintenance.

While Eric was attending Mira Mesa High School, he would spend his summers working as a San Diego roof installer. It was during that time that Eric decided he wanted to pursue a career as a roofer. But – he didn’t just want to own any roofing company, he wanted to own a roofing company that provided San Diego roofing customers with products and installation services that exceeded industry standards.

I was thoroughly impressed with Eric and his roofing team. From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded my expectations in terms of professionalism, quality, and service.
During the initial consultation, Eric demonstrated extensive knowledge during his roof inspection. What stood out most was his honesty - he provided straightforward recommendations without any pressure tactics or unnecessary upselling. His competitive pricing matched other quotes I received, offering excellent value for the quality of work.
The crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day and completed the entire roof replacement within a single 12-hour workday - an impressive feat considering the scope of the project. They showed remarkable flexibility by accommodating my requests to close an existing vent and install a new one in a different location, even though this wasn't in the original work order. I learned so much about my roof during the inspection.  Eric was very thorough in explaining aspects of my roofing situation, and the report was provided within 24 hours.

Excellent job!
Needed to replace our aging roof and got estimates from a few highly rated companies. Roofing Specialists of San Diego was not the cheapest option, but their estimate was by far the most detailed and Mark Dice was excellent to work with. He was super responsive and extremely knowledgable on all aspects of the project. He also handled coordination with the solar company and even helped prepping everything before the crew arrived. I am amazed how efficient the crew was and how quick and smoothly everything went.
The crew added new OSB sheeting, replaced damaged wood, installed additional vents, replacement Velux skylights and new Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration Cool Mountainside asphalt shingles as well as a new Dibiten torch down cricket.
A few minor issues we discovered were quickly taken care of and our new roof looks great! With the great workmanship and a 50 year warranty we feel confident we will be ok for a very long time. I highly recommend Roofing Specialists of San Diego...

I was enlisted by my daughter to help find a contractor to replace the roof on her recently purchased home.   We were aware the roof needed replacement prior to the purchase so that was not a surprise, but the process of securing bids for the job was challenging.  We contacted a total of eight roofers, of which only five came out and submitted proposals.  As expected, there was a bit of a range in the dollar amounts quoted and they varied in the level of detail provided.  Attempting to get clarity on what was being proposed was a struggle.  That is where Mark from Roofing Specialists of San Diego began to shine.  During the inspection, he attempted to explain in terms I could understand what needed to be done and some of the unknowns in a roofing project.   Mark is a bit over the top with how he presented his company, to the point we were a little hesitant to go with Roofing Specialists, but their quote was reasonable (in the middle of the $ range), it included a detailed breakdown, and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive, so we decided to go with them.  And we are glad we did.  Once we had the bid, Mark was responsive to questions and adjusted the quote after we realized a portion of the job was not included.   Mark reached out several times ahead of our scheduled project date to work through last minute logistics.   The crew (9+) arrived on time.  They were professional, efficient, organized, and respectful.   Given the age/condition of the roof we had banked on needing to replace a portion of wood sheeting, the additional cost of which was clearly spelled out in the bid.  Unfortunately for us, once the roof decking was exposed there was a lot more damage than anticipated.  After getting our approval, Roofing Specialists replaced approximately 40% of the roofing decking.  This added a few thousand dollars to the final cost, but we were very happy to be able to remove the damaged wood before the new roof was installed.  Even with that setback, the crew still finished on time and left the property in excellent condition.  And we got pictures of the work progress several times a day.
