„David says: The experience began when I met with John. He impressed me as trustworthy, and he was extremely knowledgeable about the products and options. So I placed the order. On the starting day, I was already at work when the crew arrived to start working. I came home at lunch to check in with the crew. In half a day the crew had already stripped the old shingles. In my past experience with roofers, this process took two to three days. I spoke to the only person who was on the ground at the time, everyone else was on the roof. He informed me that everything was on schedule, and according to plan. While I was talking to him, he loaded a bundle of shingles onto the conveyor belt on the truck sending bundles of shingles up to the roof. The worker on the roof was twenty feet away, stacking bundles of shingles on the roof for the installers to use. At the exact moment that the bundle of shingles reached the top of the conveyor, the worker on the roof was right there to grab it. While filling me in on the rest of the details, the worker on the truck loaded another bundle on the conveyor. Once again at the exact moment, the other worker was right there to unload it. With a team that works that well together, I knew that the job would go perfectly, so I went back to work and let the roofers do the same. Less than a week later, the job was finished. The crew did a great job, and at the end of each day the clean up was spotless. As for the warranty: 30 years may seem a little unnecessary; however, when I bought my house, the inspector said that the house would need a new roof almost immediately. The seller agreed to reduce the sale price by $15,000. So as I see it ,if I choose to sell this house in the next 30 years (for example to move to a retirement community) that warranty will be worth at least $15,000. This was the third time in my life that I have had to deal with roofers, and by far the best in that it was the quickest, most efficient, and most straight forward. „Jeanette Owens says: My Experience with Alex Perez Roofing (APR) APR was priced competitively, but it was all the little things that made the big difference. I set up an appointment for April 15, 2024, to meet with APR. The estimator was on time, well dressed and well groomed. With a ready smile, he politely shook my hand and introduced himself. To my surprise it was Alex Perez himself. He patiently followed me around the house while I showed him all of the issues I noticed. He asked questions and politely waited for my reply. He then let me know that he wanted to investigate the roof a bit more. Once he finished, he knocked on the door and said that he had all he needed and that I would be getting a quote soon. I received it in 2 days. I asked Alex if we could meet to discuss the quote, so he could clarify some things. Since I work near his office, he stayed late to accommodate me. When I arrived, he treated me like I was an honored guest, and he had all the time in the world to spend answering my questions. He answered all my questions with the same patience and politeness. I knew he was my contractor. He said that his scheduler will be calling me with details of the installation. I was called the next day and was set up to start the day after Memorial Day. He even had inspection days lined up. Alex gave me an extra week to choose my roof color – this is the part I dread. Alex arranged for me to come by his office to look at samples. One of the samples from the brochure was not available, so his helper drove somewhere to get it and within 7 minutes returned with the sample. The people in the office were so helpful in helping me choose. Between the color choosing and start date Alex called to say that something I wanted was not available and offered an alternative suitable solution. He wanted to make sure that I received exactly what I ordered. The start day arrived. The crew showed up, knocked on my door and let me know that they were here to start working if that was ok with me. The foreman walked with me around the house and let me know what I should move away from the house and even helped me move the items. They then placed tarps all around the house and overlapped them. Once the tarps were in place, they climbed on the roof and commenced to removing the roof. When they finished, they told me they were leaving, and that the installation crew would arrive in about an hour. I looked around the house and didn’t find on piece of paper, roof or nails. They cleaned very well. The installation crew showed up, knocked on my door to let me know they had arrived and asked if it was ok to start work. Alex drove up to see the progress, talk to the guys and ask me if I was pleased with the progress. I told him that I was impressed that he said what he was going to do and did what he said he would do. At the end of the day, the crew cleaned up – no trash, no little papers, and their tools were neatly stacked. Again, a polite knock on my door to let me know they were leaving and would return at 7am the next day. The next day, the same knock on the door at promptly 7am. The crew went to work at a steady pace. Alex came by to check on the progress and asked if I was pleased with the progress. I noticed that the crew didn’t work any differently when he was there watching. Again, they cleaned up, even sweeping the decks and concrete pads in front of doors. This daily pattern repeated until the work was finished on time and no change orders. A neighbor came over and said that he found nails on the ground for a month after he had his roof done. I knew that after they tore off the existing roof there would be a Change Order because my roof had extensive damage, Michael told me the cost per man for the extra repairs. I calculated it was still cheaper that accepting the other two bids. 5-Star roofing gave me a call within a week of accepting the contract and we set a date. The crew arrived early Monday morning, they first covered the grounds with tarps to catch the nails and old roofing materials and began tearing off the roof, as the roof was being torn off the foreman and I walked around to discuss what other things might be done to the roof and eaves of the house. We both agreed that extensive repair would need to be done. The foreman set three workers to begin doing the repairs and two other workers to start roofing the areas that did not need repair. The workers kept the area clean and tidy as they progressed through the reroof procedure. The foreman kept me informed throughout the job, so I was aware of everything that they were doing. By the end of the day, they still had a lot of work to do, but needed to get wood for the repairs. Tuesday morning the workers showed up with smiles and greetings and now they had the wood for the roof repair. It took most the day for them to finish up the repairs before they could really begin roofing. The next day Wednesday, the crew shows up and knocks out almost the entire roof, but now the roofing inspector needed to inspect the roof before they could finish. The foremen told me that the inspector would arrive Thursday to inspect the house and they would have to wait until they had the Pre-inspection authorized before they could finish the roof. The inspector showed up the next day and gave his blessing and on Friday morning the workers finished the roof by 1pm and did another cleaning of the area. The final inspection occurred the following Monday and I asked the inspector what he thought of the job, he said they had done excellent work, which made me pleased. 5-star roofing then sent me the final bill and I was happy with the price that they gave me because the change order was not as much as I imagined.
