„stephen says: Finding a quality and reliable contractor to complete anything within budget and on time is so hard. I want to take the time to explain my experience and hopefully others with find it helpful for their next roofing project whether they decide to choose Axis or another contractor. Axis Roofing completed a flat roof recoating project on my house in November 2024. I worked with Jimmy Mascari. I would strongly recommend working with Jimmy. Here was my experience: When I first scheduled for an estimate, I was not home. Jimmy came to my house (with my permission of course) and took photos of my roof, documenting the overall situation and areas that needed special attention. Jimmy provided me with a photo report with the estimate. The photo estimate helped me understand the problem areas and the overall condition of my flat roof. I was given a choice between recoating my flat roof with Acrylic or Silicone. Silicone was more expensive, but Jimmy took the time to describe the pros and cons of each product. He did not pressure me one way or the other and told me that the decision was ultimate mine. I took a few days to think about it and after doing some research on the internet, I decided to go with Silicone. Flat roofs are never "flat" and when it rains I have some areas that pond until the sun dries it off. I confirmed that Silicone is better at handling these situations and also lasts significantly longer before needing a recoat. If you are not planning on living in your house for a decade plus, Acrylic is more cost effective. Once the contract was signed, Jimmy scheduled a project walkthrough a few days before the crew arrived. Jimmy was accompanied by the project manager Carlos. The three of us walked my roof. While on the roof, we discussed the process and noted areas needing special attention. For example, we discussed how cables, pipes, and the area around my A/C unit would be handled. I appreciated that everything was explained to me before any work started and it also gave me an opportunity to give my input on how I wanted certain things handled. Once the work started, it took 3 days. First day was cleaning and prep. Second day was the first layer of coating. Third day was final coating and details. After the work was completed, I was provided a project completion report. However, Carlos also came back to my house for a final inspection and we both walked my roof. There were a few areas that needed to have some follow up work done. I received my final invoice to pay for the project before completion of the follow up work. I was nervous about paying before everything was done, but decided to just pay and hoped that Jimmy would ensure that the few little details that were missed would still get done. Within a week of that final walkthrough, Jimmy sent an Axis tech to complete those details. I was then sent a photo report confirming that the areas we discussed were taken care of. The project was completed with the agreed upon upfront price with no bate and switch tactics. Jimmy communicated with me each step of the way even after money transferred hands. I have included before and after pictures received with my reports for reference. „William Sette says: After making appointments with no less than a dozen roofing companies over the past year, I narrowed down my choice to three of those twelve companies. Of those three companies I asked each representative to bring me samples of certain colors of roofing materials. The one representative who went out of their way to accommodate me promptly and professionally was Luke Phelps of Real Roofing. In addition, since my home was a vacation rental, I needed some extra care to make sure clean-up on the property was a real focus. Luke came through and told me they would cover the entire backyard, the pool, bushes, artificial turf, putting green, and Spa. Since you cannot really tell what the color and style of a particular roofing shingle would look like unless you see an entire completed roof on a home, I also asked Luke if he could send me addresses of homes that were roofed in the color I had chosen. Luke of Real Roofing complied with some addresses, while the other two companies informed me they could not accommodate my request. Real Roofing not only came through with addresses, but their estimate and contract was 18 pages long and was complete in every detail. The other estimates and contracts were only a few pages. Luke even allowed me to make changes to the contract to include some extra details such as covering my complete backyard. Most importantly, his price was well within a reasonable range. I also requested from Luke that he send their best roofing team and foreman to do my roof. Luke again complied and scheduled Foreman Juan Chavez. Juan directed his team to do everything possible to ensure the highest quality workmanship, right down to replacing any faulty plywood, and using 6 nails in every shingle. I also had areas on my roof where I had heavy runoff. Luke informed Juan about the areas and the first day Juan showed up on the job, Juan explained to me how he was going to design the flashing to ensure the runoff would be directed away from my fascia and overhang. Since my home was a vacation rental, Juan understood clean-up was imperative. Any nails left on the property would be cause for alarm should a guest step on one. So, Juan took special pains to go over the property multiple times with his team to make sure no nails or roofing debris was left on the property. A bonus with Real Roofing was the fifty year GAF shingle and labor warranty. When time comes for roofing my private residence, you know I’m going to use Real Roofing.
