**Beware When Choosing This Company for Your Home**
We chose Total Home Services for a second opinion after our home warranty company recommended them. They conducted a diagnosis, sent the report to our warranty provider, and eventually performed a condenser replacement. After a lengthy process with our home warranty company, they finally paid for the replacement.
However, shortly after Total Home Services completed the installation, we began experiencing issues. Our pipes started freezing over, so we contacted Total Home Services. Roger's son visited our home and advised us to keep the temperature at 70°F to prevent further freezing. He also mentioned that they had provided us with an upgraded condenser, which was supposed to be an improvement.
Fast forward to 2024, and the same issue reoccurred—our condenser was freezing up again. We contacted Total Home Services, and they sent out a technician. This time, the technician claimed that the freezing was due to dirty ducts and instructed us to turn off the AC unit, turn on the fan, and then restart the AC when the lines froze. This was unacceptable, especially considering the unit was relatively new.
I informed the technician that I would have the ducts cleaned, but if the problem persisted, I would contact them again. After following through with this, the issue was not resolved, and Total Home Services failed to respond appropriately. Roger eventually called me, asking for details about the problem. I explained the situation and mentioned that other HVAC companies had informed us that the main issue stemmed from the initial installation. They had failed to mention that our furnace needed replacement at the time of the condenser installation.
As you can see in the email report that was sent to us by our home warranty company, this is exactly what Total Home Services communicated to them. They never once mentioned the furnace, nor did they bring it up during their evaluation of our AC unit. It's only now, as we seek answers, that the company is backpedaling, claiming they did mention the need to replace our furnace
Now, Total Home Services is attempting to shift the blame onto our home warranty company, claiming they told the home warranty that the furnace needed to be replaced, but the warranty company denied the request. After speaking with our warranty provider, they reviewed the case and found no record of such a recommendation from the contractor.
When I spoke to Roger, he suggested that our furnace was incompatible with the new condenser they installed. This oversight has cost us significantly, as we are now out-of-pocket for a unit that was knowingly installed despite its incompatibility. To make matters worse, Total Home Services has been giving us the runaround, providing incorrect information and failing to resolve the issue.
In conclusion, I would caution anyone considering using Total Home Services for their home. Our experience has been frustrating and costly, and the company has not taken responsibility for their mistakes...
