As my home got to 94° I couldn't wait any longer, so I called this company and they came out right away same day. The tech was super nice and very professional. He started in the attic and then went to the outside unit. He spent time testing the components and determined that my capacitor was bad. He quoted me $400 to replace. I called around and it was about $400 to repair, so the price was within industry standards. He then put everything back together and gave me a very professional invoice listing the part I needed and the problem. I sent a check in the mail for the diagnostic fee. My warranty company called and said they'd be able to come out the next day first thing in the morning. So out of curiosity I decided to see what they would do and say. The other company's tech came, I told him the problem, he didn't check in the attic, and I watched him, he didn't test any of the components. Within 10 minutes he told me my fan was bad and the whole unit had to be replaced. I went off on him. I told him to pack his stuff up and get out. Then he tried to explain, so I Handed him the capacitor from Ace Hardware and told him to put it on while I watched. Assuming I was stupid, he began to show me that there was a short in the system and it wouldn't work. I got mad and angry again at the assumption that I was stupid, so I told him, let's try putting the wires on the capacitor the right way and stop assuming I'm stupid. I'm not stupid. I can see what you're doing. He didn't know I had already taken a photo of the old capacitor and knew how the wires were suppose to be connected and I'm watching him cause the short. He finally agrees to do it right, and what do you know, the fan didn't need to be replaced, and the AC started cooling in the house, and everything worked wonderfully. He was a very dishonest tech. And then he took credit for solving the problem after making me fight with him to be honest. 😡 So whenever I need AC work again I'll never forget the excellent service I got from Air Tech of Pasadena. They came out right away, we're very professional, thorough, and honest. Best $89 I ever spent. I highly recommend...“ Show more

O&M all part of keeping the system tuned! Update: 04/05/23 - Trey was our Technician today; very courteous, friendly and professional! We discussed my concerns, and reviewed what he’ll be doing this visit. He performed a comprehensive systems check on the system and adjusted the placement of the Air Scrubber that kicked off due the activation of the safety switch. The Compressor, Condenser and Air Handler were thoroughly inspected. Also performed duct-fogging sanitization. Over all, he did an “OUTSTANDING JOB!!!” Thank you Trey! Update: 09/22/22 - with the maintenance plan in place; we scheduled the maintenance to be performed. Shane B w/SouthCoast Heat & Air did an outstanding job, very much the professional and thorough review of our new HVAC system. Went over the new air handler, compressor condenser and Fresh Air make-up. Great job! Follow up to our final part of install. Maintenance contract in place and sensors installed. Great job Alex! Joe thank Frank for the follow-up on the Electric work! Much appreciated! The story…we purchased our home and 1-month later, existing 5-year old HVAC system completely fails; no cooling w/90-degree temps and rising. Compressor condenser and air handler are rotted and shot. AND after a week, First American Home Warranty completely “FAILS” and denied our claim to repair. The Fix…we look up SouthCoast Heat & Air; already a 5-Star company and called. As indicated, immediate response! Joseph S. met us at our home and completely surveyed the existing system. We go over the options and decide to purchase a complete energy efficient, state of the art HVAC i.e., the full package, Compressor/Condenser, Air-handler, Air Purification variable speed etc.. End result…after ordering our system it took only 1-week to receive and a completed full install. SouthCoast Heat & Air is a “Top Notch” company and assuredly deserves our assessment of a 5-Star Rating! Full representation of what they do! Friendly, Honest, Professional, Technical Knowledge and their Team of installers were “OUTSTANDING!” All in all; we couldn’t have asked for better company!
