Although this may sound like any other meeting you've had with a contractor, it was the way he presented his company and the ease in talking with him that was notable, very nice guy!\nThere were two crews that were used to complete the job, one for removing and repairing the roof, and the other for replacing the gutters. Both crews were professional and friendly. They completed their jobs in a very timely manner and cleaned up after themselves ensuring nothing was left on the ground and/or materials left for me to pick up. Very nice jobs.\nIn-between the initial meeting with Sergie and the job being completed, Cornelius kept in touch with me to keep me updated with progress and timelines, he too, like Sergie, was extremely easy to work with and there was never any question on any part of the job.\nSergie would stop by inspecting the work being done and answering any questions that came up. It was an extremely satisfying experience working with them.\nThe last step was for the city to approve the work completed. When the inspector came out, LifeTime Builders had left multiple photos and explanations laid out for the inspector. The inspector was impressed by the amount of photos provided. There were no issues found and everything was signed off and approved.\nThanks LifeTime Builders, it was an easy, stress-free experience. All materials and equipment were kept out of the way each evening. Kaufman came back and walked me through the process to work with our insurance and helped get my claim through with ease. Unlike storm chasing companies they were low pressure (and honest) with their recommendations. The roof replacement was fast and neighbors commented on how great the new roof looks immediately. There were a few items I asked them to adjust after my own inspection and they worked with me to get the punch list done quickly. They took pride in their work. They also had a quality gutter team come and add gutters in areas where we needed them.\n\nI worked with Riley throughout the roof replacement and he was responsive and provided greet customer service. The house is stucco exterior, so the fascia boards were the only thing that required painting. By wrapping those the same as the window frames I do not need to paint anything anymore. Lastly, I also had Excel add gutter screens to the new gutters they installed. They invoiced me separately for this additional work, making it easy for me to pay my portions and insurance to cover theirs.\nI would highly recommend Excel to anyone. They did a good job communicating with me and their estimates were detailed and accurate, so there were no surprises when I got the final bill. Brandy hired a contractor to replace the siding on her home in 2022. Unfortunately, while the company had lots of roofing experience, they did not have the expertise to take on a siding project.

Brandy realized something was wrong when she had to stop the crew from putting new siding on top of rotting wood outside her home. From there, her concerns only grew.

Lisa did everything right when she needed to replace her roof after a windstorm. She searched for vetted contractors on Directorii and other review sites. She met with three different companies to get estimates. The contractor she picked checked all the boxes: they used quality materials, showed expertise in their presentation, were willing to work with her insurance adjuster, and– they were covered under Directorii’s $20,000 guarantee.

After a couple months of back and forth with Lisa’s insurance company, the job moved forward. She was a little concerned to see that the owner was not on site the entire time like he’d promised, but brushed it off. After the work was finished, the contractor informed Lisa they had decided not to install plywood sheathing as planned, even though it was covered by her insurance. Again, she brushed it off. But a few weeks later, the gutters clogged.

Lisa’s husband used a ladder to look at the roof for the first time since it had been replaced, and found a disaster. The gutters were filled with nails, shingles and other debris. When they walked on the roof, they could feel soft spots where the home’s original barnwood planks were rotting, causing wavy and dipped slopes. The shingles were not aligned straight, and several of them were curling up with nails poking through. There were gaps in the roof and underlayment, exposing wood beneath. The drip edge was not secured to the house in several areas–to the point that the entire sections of roof could be lifted from the house. And there were a few sections where no repairs had been made at all, or left unfinished.

Lisa was horrified and sent photos to her contractor, who agreed to come out and personally finish the incomplete sections. He did visit once, but was unable to finish and told her he would come back. Then, he stopped responding. After several weeks, and speaking with an attorney, Lisa hired another contractor to come out and access the damage. What they found was even worse than she’d thought. Not only had the first contractor used the wrong brand of shingles–the roof would have to be completely torn off, plywood sheathing installed and re-roofed. It was at this point that Lisa made a call to Directorii.

The Directorii team assessed the damage she had documented, and reached out to her contractor. He eventually conceded that he needed to make things right. However, Lisa was no longer comfortable with him working on her home. Instead, Directorii connected Lisa with a new contractor and refunded the cost of the replacement– which totalled over $8,000.
