Absolutely the best. They did our whole roof a number of years ago at a competitive price, and it has held up beautifully. One small area had some moss damage recently - our fault for not paying attention to what was growing after 10+ years under a shaded area - and they just did the repair. Again, at a competitive price, and to their credit they did not try to talk me into a whole new roof (to quote Bob, "I don't want to sell you a roof you don't need"). Amazing, right? They bent over backwards to match the color of the shingles used for the repair since the original shingles were no longer available, and did some additional work on the vents and chimney flashing that they found was needed when they came, at no extra charge. Left the yard spotless. Pleasant, professional. I would never use anyone else...

If you are looking for a quality roofing contractor, it's hard to imagine one any better than Ranch Roofing!

Our condo association recently hired Ranch Roofing for a significant project re-roofing our Victorian-era Jamaica Plain condo building. Their professionalism, collaboration from the first pre-sale discussion through the project, and attention to detail made a complex job run smoothly.

What made the job complex wasn't replacing the previous rubber roof installed over the original tar and gravel roof built in 1892; that was difficult enough. The challenge was that the roof replacement needed to happen underneath two roof decks that would need to be removed and rebuilt to allow for the roof resurfacing.

When we started searching for roofing contractors, we heard repeatedly that the roofing company would be happy to replace our roof if we removed the decks, essentially leaving the condo association as general contractors. By contrast, Ranch's reaction was the exact opposite. They told us they would only bid on the contract if they were responsible for removing and rebuilding the roof deck, given the potential for a third party to damage the roof after installation.

When we dug into the details with Don, their lead salesperson and initial project lead, we also discovered that the decks would need re-engineering to comply with the current building code that no longer allowed for "floating decks." After sourcing an engineering firm to help with design, we connected them with Ranch and engaged them in the project. Together they submitted the necessary permit requests to the City to begin the project.

After getting through last winter with our aging roof, we started the project in earnest this spring. Ranch's on-site crew was timely, organized, and highly professional at each stage of the construction process. They were more than willing to take the time to answer questions and were able to come up with on-the-spot solutions to every unforeseen challenge, ensuring that our roof project was a success. Rolling with the changes was especially important in rebuilding our roof decks because of the complex nature of tying the new decks into the existing building framing and because we opted to upgrade the construction materials to higher quality options during the project.

Their carpentry lead, Dave, communicated every challenge he faced with the framing to ensure we understood the issues. He was adamant about not cutting corners to ensure the decks were secure. He also was very candid about the various options we discussed on the upgraded materials, allowing us to make the financial decisions we needed with our condo association. His input and quality construction produced a beautiful result (see pictures) that we couldn't be happier with.

In short, we are thrilled we chose Ranch Roofing for our roof project and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a roofing contractor they can trust to do a great job. If you are looking for an experienced, thorough, collaborative roofing contractor Ranch is the way to go...

Ranch did a terrific job from start to finish. Todd, the rep, was very patient and visited our 1880 Colonial several times to be sure he understood the task and to present all the options to replace the original slate roof with architectural asphalt, and to help us think through choices for two side roofs. He is an expert, with tons of experience to draw on. He priced the project fairly, and the communication throughout the leadup (including a temporary snag with permitting) and the job itself were excellent.

Bob, Ryan, and the crew were efficient, hardworking and respectful. Bob offered a lower cost option to repair rather than replace the gutter system. They did a great job and cleaned up thoroughly. There were no surprises! Exactly what you want in a home service company. We're looking forward to working with Ranch again, and recommend them enthusiastically...

We had the main roof replaced on a home built in 1796. Ranch Roofing was selected from one of three estimates solicited, largely because of their attention to detail and clarity of communication. The company was a pleasure to deal with from the start. The job was reviewed by their carpenter prior to providing an estimate; contingencies were well planned for and options accounted for in the estimate. Our administrative contact, Don Carter, was extremely responsive and very knowledgable. The on-site project manager, Dave Jensen, was efficient, professional, and kept us well informed throughout the on-site process. The crew went above and beyond, installing crickets to direct the water around the chimneys, carefully detaching existing strap hung modern guttering to allow it to be reused, and using extreme care to assure the original wooden gutters on the house were preserved. The job was completed on time and within budget, and the area around the house was left in immaculate condition. This company has my highest recommendation. We will definitely be using them to replace the lower roofs in the spring...
