The very first person we worked with was Amanda from Floor Coverings International. In my experience, you often don’t go with the first option. In this instance, Amanda set such a high standard that everyone else paled in comparison. Amanda took the time to listen to what WE wanted. We have hardwood floors on our main level. We weren’t all that interested in putting them throughout the rest of our house. We have a young daughter and two dogs, and we wanted something maintenance-free. Amanda didn’t push us for hardwood like all of the others did. Again, she listened and helped us choose what we wanted without pressure. Sounds straightforward enough, and we moved forward with the project. No sooner than we did so, we had two solid days of rain at our house. The storm flooded our basement and ruined our flooring entirely. This happened to coincide with Amanda visiting for final measurements. Again, Amanda stepped up and took time out of her schedule to go through a different level of our house to discuss our options for replacing the now-damaged flooring. This all occurred during the busiest time of the year for flooring companies. Amanda, Steven, and the installers took on two projects with essentially no questions asked. If we had gone with another company, our house would have been a disaster for months. That was not the case, and it is a testament to how choosing a local small business in a scenario like this can make all the difference. As for the quality of the products and installation, they also met the above expectations. We have a very unique basement space with several different floor coverings. Amanda went over and above to help us understand what we wanted and helped us find flooring options that really took our space to the next level.
